The 5 Best Off Registry Wedding Gifts

Weddings are such a fun event. One of my favorite parts about a wedding is picking out the perfect wedding gift for the bride and groom. With my sister getting engaged and married this year, I’ve been thinking about what to get her and her future husband, since they won’t have a registry. So, I’ve compiled my top 5 favorite wedding gifts to buy when you don’t know what to buy.

#1. Cold hard CASH

Some people may think this is tacky, but I strongly disagree. There’s nothing like going to the bank and getting some fresh bills to stuff inside a beautiful card. Everyone can use money, no matter what their financial situation. And, the bride and groom may appreciate you not buying them one more thing they didn’t want or need.

#2. ‘Just married’ Christmas ornament

This is possibly my favorite on the list. We were gifted a few ‘just married’ Christmas ornaments ourselves when we got married in 2019. I’ve also given this gift myself. It’s just a fun, festive, thoughtful gift that’ll remind the couple of their nuptials year after year as they bring it out to hang on their tree. Plus, Christmas, need I say more? Below are some of my favorites for this year.

#3. Double Frame

This is actually an idea I got from my sister. She’s been to SO MANY weddings in the last ten years and said the double frame, with a place for your wedding invitation and a wedding photo is one of her go to gifts. I like the Kate Spade New York Rosy Glow double frame, myself. So pretty and practical at the same time.

#4. Champagne flutes & champagne

I love fancy glassware, even though I’m not much of an alcohol drinker myself. I do however appreciate a good champagne. Perrier Jouet, Veuve Cliquot, Moet & Chandon, and Pommery are among my favorite delicious/relatively affordable champagnes. Of course you can always go ultra luxe with Dom Perignon or Cristal. You could also go sparkling wine, I love a bottle of Domaine Carneros Cuvée de la Pompadour – it’s rose and sparkling – you can’t beat it.

As for the glassware, the possibilities are endless. Some of my favorites are the Coraline champagne flutes from Ralph Lauren Home. I also love the Lismore flutes from Waterford Crystal. The Dorset champagne coupe glasses from Williams Sonoma are also beautiful and not quite as pricey as the Ralph Lauren or Waterford ones. They also have a vintage flare with the coupe shape – Marie Antoinette anyone (comment below if you understood that reference)? The French champagne glasses from Crate and Barrel are also lovely and very affordable. Plus, they’re glasses you could easy multiply without spending an excessive amount of money.

#5. Luxury board game

I know I said the Christmas ornament was my favorite on this list but there’s something about the nostalgia of a board game that gets me so excited. Couple that with a little bit of refined luxury and I’m all in. Be it Monopoly, Scrabble, Backgammon, Dominos, Chess, or Clue, I don’t think you can go wrong. Unless of course the couple you’re buying for hates fun, in which case, you should probably just stick with cash. There’s something so appealing about a classic board game presented in such an elevated and beautiful manner. Makes me want to start a Saturday evening game night!

BONUS #6. Fancy chocolates

I decided to throw out a sixth gift because I think consumable gifts are some of the best you can give. A fancy box of chocolates will please the majority of people and if not, it’s something that can be easily regifted (in quick succession hopefully). My favorite is from LA Burdick. These are FINE chocolates. My husband and I bought some for ourselves for Valentine’s Day in 2021 and they were the best boxed chocolates I’ve ever tasted. I have tried a lot of chocolate and nothing has come close to these since. They also do themed chocolates around holidays which are just so fun. You honestly cannot go wrong.

And there were have it, my top 5, er, 6 best off-registry wedding gifts. Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
