New year, new list of books I’m planning to read. In all honesty, last year was not my best in terms of reading. I barely made a dent in my 2022 reading list. I chalk that up to becoming a mom, caring for our baby, selling our condo, moving across country, renovating a new home, etc. Excuses aside (however good they may be), I love to read, so I’m setting a goal of one book per month this year to help get me back on track. That should be more than doable.
I’m not a big fan of chick-lit, so you won’t be seeing any Colleen Hoover on this list. To each their own, nothing against those types of books, I just tend to prefer non-fiction unless it is an epic fantasy series (LOTR, His Dark Materials, Dune). Since I haven’t found a new epic to pique my interest and I haven’t finished the Outlander series yet, my list is mainly non-fiction.

Here’s what’s on my list for 2023, so far:
- French Women Don’t Get Facelifts – Mireille Guiliano
- The Slight Edge – Jeff Olson
- Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
- The 12 Week Year – Brian Moran & Michael Lennington
- 12 Rules for Life – Jordan Peterson
- Spare – Prince Harry
- Stop Overthinking – Nick Trenton
- Make Your Bed – Admiral William H. McRaven
- The Silmarillion – JRR Tolkien
- The Daily Stoic – Ryan Holiday
- Ikigai – Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles
- The Mountain is You – Brianna Wiest
- Manifest – Roxie Nafousi
I’m excited to start checking them off. The next thing is deciding where to start and whether or not to read them electronically. I prefer having the real thing, but with a small child who is ever curious, it may be easier to read them on my phone than an actual book. He will want the book lol.
And there it is, my 2023 reading list. Where would you start? Leave me a comment below.
