December is always one of my favorite months of the year. It’s like tying a bow on a present, the final touch. I love the holiday season and the start of winter and everything that goes with it, so that contributes to my love of the final month of the year. It’s like saving the best for last.
I tend to shop more in this month than any month of the year and this year for whatever reason (probably something to do with being a new mom), most of my purchases were fashion and beauty related. There’s a couple wildcards in here too, but for the most part, I was digging all things girly and useful.
I’ve compiled my favorites for this month and weeded it down to the top 7. Hope you enjoy!
Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Youth Power Creme
I’ve been looking for a good moisturizer for the last few months and decided to try some from Estée Lauder on a whim. They were having a great deal and one of my favorite lip balms and my favorite primer are from Estée Lauder so I figured ‘why not’. The moisturizer is thick and hydrating and makes my skin feel smooth and plump. Plus it helps clear up the eczema patches I tend to get around my nose and on my eyelids, so that’s a win-win.
Sequin Dress from LuLus
My sister got married this month and she wanted everyone to dress ‘winter wonderland’ appropriate. I scoured the internet for a beautiful dress and after spending an excessive amount on a dress from Neiman Marcus, I decided to buy this one as a backup, just in case the one I bought didn’t work. I’m glad I did, because I ended up wearing this one and it was beautiful.
Roses from Fifty Flowers
Also as part of my sister’s wedding, my mom and I ordered wholesale flowers online for the decor. The Polar Star white roses we ordered were the most beautiful roses I’ve ever purchased. They came two days before the event and after quickly fluffing them all, they looked absolutely stunning. We added them to the baby’s breath garland on their fireplace and I made my sister a bouquet and her husband a boutonnière. 10/10 recommend.
Lensa App Avatars
I totally could not resist doing this myself when I saw it trending on social media. It was so fun and while it did cost like $4 (I think), it was totally worth it. You just upload a bunch of selfies and it spits out AI generated avatars of yourself. Seriously so fun for someone like me who loves all things fantasy. My favs are below.
Slip Silk Hair Ties
I got these in my stocking this year and they seriously are the best hair ties. I’ve been using them for years but somehow in our move I can only find like 2 of the ones I had, so these came at a perfect time. I’m not sure they’re doing a lot to heal my hair from damage but I am confident that they aren’t causing more of it when I use them.
Nordstrom Pajamas
These pajamas are my favorites all year, not just in December. I’ve owned several pairs over the years but 2022 was not kind to my previously owned sets. Between my water breaking in one set (and being filled with meconium), to another succumbing to breastfeeding stains, I was down to one pair by the time Black Friday rolled around. I treated myself to two new sets and they remain my ultimate faves.
APL Shoes
I’ve been wearing APLs for the last 4 years, I believe. I love these sneakers. My favorite thing about them is they aren’t leather. Most styles are made from woven fabric and they are absolutely beautiful sneakers. They’re also super comfortable, so they’re great for walking long distances. They tend to have a buy two, get one free deal around Black Friday/cyber Monday each year, so I couldn’t resist when I got the ad for it this year. I got another pair of the TechLoom Breeze and another of the TechLoom Bliss.
